Brother Printer Tech Support for Brother Printer Offline

How to do Your Own Tech Support with These Printers :

The Brother Company has been around for over a hundred years. Started in 1908, the company soon became a leading provider of printers, label makers, computers, fax machines, and sewing machines. They began introducing their devices and printers in 1971 with their first, the Matrix 101. Since then, the printers have evolved and become a leading competition for other printer manufacturers.

However, and like most computers and printers, there are always issues that leave us full of frustration. Spending time troubleshooting with online or phone Brother Printer tech support is sometimes an unnecessary waste of time. Here, we will explore the circumstances under which you can forget about calling the Brother Printers tech support, and do this by yourself.

The most common errors that might require some troubleshooting from your part are as follows :

1. Your print jobs are poor quality — this issue is known to occur in almost all printers. The most common reasons for this to happen are :
• Low ink in your cartridges — This is a common problem that is easily solved:
  • a) Purchase and replace the cartridges
  • b) Purchase a Brother ink kit ad refill the cartridges

• Clogged, old or worn out cartridges — As everything in life, all things must come to an end, and ink cartridges are no better. If you have refilled your ink cartridges and your print jobs are still in poor quality, do the following :
  • a) Cancel all print jobs in the print queue
  • b) Open the printer and take out the cartridges
  • c) Using a lint free damp cloth, clean the cartridges (the area from which the ink is released). If you see ink on the cloth, then chances are the cartridge was just clogged from dry ink and should continue to work accordingly.
  • d) If you have no such luck, chances are you will need to replace the cartridges. Purchase them from your Brother printer manufacturer.

• Too much ink in the cartridges—Sometimes we can go overboard when we are in the habit of refilling our ink cartridges, in this case you will have to :
  • a) use the provided syringe from your kit to suck out some of the ink
  • b) if this doesn’t work, then replace the ink cartridge

2. The printer appears offline — whether your printer is wireless or not, you sometimes come across this message. There are many reasons this happens with printers. The most common reasons and fixes are as follows :
• There is a connection problem between the computers (or devices) and the printers.
• If you have a local printer, do the following:
  • a) Cancel the printing queue
  • b) Check the USB cable to make sure it is properly connected to the computer
  • c) If this checks out, try to use a different USB cable to connect the printer and computer. If this makes changes the “printer offline” message to “printer online,” then your old USB cable is no longer useful and you will have to replace it.

• For network printers make sure all the following are correct :
  • a) The printer is on
  • b) The computer and printer are connected to the same network
  • c) The cables of both the printer and the computer are not worn out or in need of replacement
  • d) If all these check out, and you still have a connection problem, you will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver. We will explain this in a bit.

• Wireless printers require just a tad more troubleshooting. Try the following first :
  • a) Check that the printer is on
  • b) The computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (the same router)
  • c) The cables of both the printer and the computer are not worn out or in need of replacement
  • d) Remove any big furniture that might be blocking the connection between your devices and printer.
  • e) If all these check out, and you still have a connection problem, you will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

In any connection problem issue between your devices and printer, if none of the suggestions check out, chances are you will need to uninstall and re install your printer driver. The process is the same for all three types of printers. In order to do this, follow the steps below :
  • If the problem persists, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver from your computer.
  • Before doing this, make sure the printing queue and all the print jobs are cancelled.
  • Make sure the printer is disconnected from the computer and turned off.
  • Next, access the control panel on your computer and find the “printers and devices” folder.
  • Click on the printer driver you are having problems with, and click on “uninstall.”
  • Reset the computer, and look for the driver for your Canon printer online.
  • Run the install wizard, and check the “set as default printer” option.
  • Restart the computer once again.
  • Restart the printer and connect the computer to it (whether through a direct USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection).
  • Reinstalling your printer driver should make it work from that point on,and you can resume your print jobs.
